Install the Software

On the internet, click on the Download page at:

https://download.cinelerra-gg.org/?path=%2Fimages

Here you will see several AppImage files already built for you to download, with different dates that will work on most any Linux Operating System. Click on the one with the newest date which will be in most cases similar to CinGG-2025xxxx-x86_64.AppImage where 2025xxxx is the latest creation date. The designation, x86_64, is for the usual 64 bit systems.

Make the file executable with the proper execute permissions either from the GUI of the Desktop Environment used (link to the file) or from a terminal window. Make sure you are already in the directory containing the appimage and then execute something like the following but substituting the exact name:

        chmod u+x CinGG-yyyymmdd-xxxxxx.AppImage
